The Missouri Ganesha temple was incorporated as a non-profit organization in St. Louis, Missouri by Pandit Sivashankar Hemmanur, San Jose, California along with a group of visionaries. The temple wasfounded in September 2018 with the inauguration of Utsava Vigrahas. In August 2019, Sivashankar ji along with 12 priests from different temples all over the US performed the pranaprathista of Mula vigrahas and Maha kumbabishekam.
Our temple’s day to day activities are managed by our priests with the support of our volunteers and we proudly celebrate the pranapratiishta week of our temple as our temple Anniversary each year to honor the deities and temple August 1st week.
To preserve and promote the Eternal Values of Sanatana Dharma and foster the happiness of individuals and families as well as the collective prosperity and harmony of the community.
The temple includes shrines of Maha Ganapathi, Abeeshta Kapileshwara, Raja Rajeshwari, Karthikeya, Lakshmi Venkateswara & Shirdi Sai Baba.
Ganesha (also spelled Ganesa or Ganesha and known as Ganapati, Vinayaka and Pillaiyar) is the Lord of Good Fortune who provides prosperity, fortune and success. He is the Lord of Beginnings and the Remover of Obstacles of both material and spiritual kinds. Interestingly, he also places obstacles in the path of those who need to be checked. Because of these attributes, Ganesh is widely revered by almost all castes and in all parts of India, regardless of spiritual affiliations. His image is found everywhere, in many different forms, and he is invoked before commencing any undertaking.
Goddess Raja Rajeshwari is worshipped by Shaktism and Shaivism. She is revered at Vindhyavasini, near the Ganges, where the Vindhyas Mountains meet the sacred river Ganges. As Raja Rajeshwari, or Mother of the universe, she assumes cosmic proportions, destroying evil and addressing herself to the creation and dissolution of the worlds. She is worshiped by thousands of names that often reflect local customs and legends.
